Welcome to Greg Moyes Amazing Homepage!

Hi, welcome to my webpage. This is my second year teaching at Combs High School. I previously have served in the United States Navy (Go Navy!) in the Intelligence field within Navy Special Warfare. I have served in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Dubai, Bahrain, and traveled all over the Middle East and lived and trained Law Enforcement and Intelligence Analysts in Lagos, Nigeria. We live in the greatest country on the planet and are blessed to live here.
Previous to my Navy Career, I worked for the Phoenix Police Department in intelligence, Additionally, I worked for the Utah Jazz during the John Stockton - Karl Malone years. I love spending time with my family who have all either graduated from Combs or teach here at Combs. I love fishing, camping, the outdoors, and play anything sports-related. Huge Angels and Cowboys fan!

Grading in Online Recovery is as follows:
Students must pass with a 60% to pass the each class
Students MAY pass over a subject if they are able to score an 80% on a Pre-Test showing they have proficiency in this topic* There is only ONE Pre-Test opportunity to pass per Unit Subject
Homework Policy:
Students are allowed and strongly encouraged to work on their Online courses at home, on weeknights, and the weekends. Edgenuity (the Online software) is available anywhere a student has a WiFi connection. Students are able to take quizzes and do other homework at all times.
The ONLY test that needs to be taken at school by an authorized Online Recovery Instructor is their Topic Tests and Final Exam. The Final Exam needs to be completed in one sitting.
Students are allowed to have retakes on tests and quizzes up to two times. It is important that students study up on the questions they have missed to improve their overall scores.
A student can never tell a parent they do not have homework in their Online course as it is always available to them.
Classroom Expectations:
I believe students learn in an environment where they trust their teacher and there is respect that goes both ways. Coming from a military and team environment (leave no one behind), I truly believe in every student and will help them succeed. I expect students to come prepared to learn, have fun, and be respectful of other students in the classroom. We all have challenges and difficulties in life and those are brought into the classroom.
