Intro to Ms. Furman's Classroom

About Me

Welcome!  My name is Jessica Furman and this is my 15th year in the J.O. Combs Unified School District.  I taught two years at Combs Middle School and moved up to Combs High School when we opened.  During the 2021 - 2022 school year, I will be teaching Algebra 1.  I am excited for a great year!
Outside of the classroom I run marathons.  I also volunteer with Arizona Beagle Rescue.  Born and raised a New Yorker (go Yankees!), I attended Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA.  I graduated with my Bachelors in Mathematics with a minor in Biostatistics and Secondary Education.  I competed in gymnastics from age 8 through college and have many great memories and experiences from traveling across the nation with my gymnastics team.
I also received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Capella University and am a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT).
I believe that every student can (and will!) be successful in math.  All I ask from students is 100% effort.
