Mr. Hoaglund's Economics Class
I'm Mr. Hoaglund and I am extremely excited to get started with economics here at Combs High School. I have a passion for teaching economics because I truly believe we use economics on a daily basis whether we know it or not. Economics is the art of making the most of life and this includes of choosing what brand of new shoes to buy, applying to purchase a house, or deciding how to spend your free time. Economics affects it all. The goal in my class is to teach all students how to use economics to make the most out of life!
I am originally from Grand Junction, Colorado and this is my first year here in Arizona. I enjoy doing anything outside such as hiking, traveling, golfing, or playing volley. I have a golden-doodle puppy named Posy, and she enjoys joining me on all of my adventures. In addition to doing anything out outside, I also enjoy coaching. I have had the opportunity to coach football, basketball, and girls’ soccer.
Education wise I graduated from Palisade High School in 2014 and received my Bachelors in Secondary Education and Social Studies in 2018 from Colorado Mesa University (Go Mavs!). During my time at Colorado Mesa, I played football and was heavily involved in FCA and other clubs on campus. I am currently working on my master’s degree in Educational Administration through Grand Canyon University (Go Lopes!).
