About Me

I am excited to begin my 4th year of teaching high school. I taught ELD during my first 2 years. Before teaching, I had spent the previous 20 years as an active entrepreneur—many of my endeavors involved corporate education. Due to a variety of life changes, I began my transition to teaching by substituting during my free time. Although I no longer fill the role of managing the daily operations for my business entities, I am heavily involved in the business community.

My educational history has always followed the path of my career. My undergraduate degree is a BS in Marketing. I hold three advanced degrees; MBA Global Management/Marketing, MA English Creative Writing Fiction/Nonfiction, and M.Ed. Secondary. In addition to my degrees, I possess several certifications that reflect my career history and interests. I am currently researching DBA programs. I intend to enroll in a DBA program in August of 2021.

I am a hobbyist at heart. I have spent a lifetime acquiring new hobbies and perfecting old ones. At the center of my hobbyist list is traveling. I have been to all 50 states and many countries for both work and leisure. When I travel, I focus on experiencing the local culture. On my excursions I enjoy a variety of activities, such as camping, along with just about anything else related.

I am also a huge foodie. I cook a wide range of dishes from BBQ, Hispanic, Italian, Asian, Pacific Island, and many more. I especially enjoy spicy dishes.

Lastly, I enjoy the arts of all media. I especially enjoy photography, drawing, painting, sculpting, wood, metal, and glass work. With each passing year, I continue to add to my hobbyist portfolio.

Core Educational Philosophy

I believe education is the basis for prosperity and progress. Education and learning come in many forms. Everyone can learn when needs are met, and the right opportunity is presented.
