Creative Writing/German/Credit Recovery

My educational philosophy is to help all children be successful. We are not here to help students just graduate – we are in the classroom because we believe in the ability of all students to be successful. School is so much more than just the content – it is about assisting students on their journey to the next stage in their lives, whether it be college, the military, the work force, or a church mission.

I grew up in the Midwest and transplanted myself into the desert of Arizona to attend Arizona State University. I have a bachelor’s degree in Radio & Television Broadcasting, a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education – Journalism/English, and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I have been a classroom teacher for twenty years. My teaching experience has been with all grades of English, from freshmen to seniors. I was also the yearbook adviser for twenty years. Believing that high school is such an important time in students’ lives, I loved being part of the process and watching my students create their own masterpieces.

I love to travel. I love to water ski. I love to snow ski. I love to be outside. I love to spend time with my husband, our two boys and their wives. I love, love, love to read. I am currently reading three books – not sure how that happened, but it did. I love to share my love for life with others. I love to cook, but I am not the world’s best. I am, however, according to my family, a master at pumpkin pies and homemade caramels.
