Coyote Weekly Update 12/15/17

Two half-days of final exams are on tap and then it’s time for our winter vacation.

  • Final Exam schedule:
    • Monday, December 18—periods: 1,3,5     7:15-11:15am
    • Tuesday, December 19---periods: 2,4,6     7:15-11:15am

No lunches will be served on these two days. Breakfast will be served. Buses will leave campus no later than 11:30am each of these days.

  • If your student has an “A hour” class, please contact that teacher to confirm if they need to attend for a final exam. If they have completed their final exam already because it is an online class, then they do not need to attend A hour on Monday or Tuesday, December 18 and 19
  • For those students who have an “A hour” class with Ms. Kellogg, she will be available on both Monday and Tuesday during your A hour for any makeup work but all testing will be completed by Friday, December 15.
  • There will be no ROTC on Monday and Tuesday, December 18 and 19 due to CHS early release.
  • EVIT students---buses for the Main Campus and East Campus will depart at their regular time they will load in the student parking lot Monday thru Friday next week.
  • Winter holiday vacation December 20-January 3. School begins Thursday, January 4, 2018 with our regular Thursday schedule.

  • Combs High School is in beginning stages of organizing an Alumni Association and we are looking for graduates and staff to participate in this exciting process. If you are interested in learning more, please contact—Brooke Davis, Principal at:
  • Do you want a decoration that celebrates the holiday season? Please see what is available from our Life Skills students in the attached flyer.
  • Do you have some time in your schedule to help our Career and Technical Education students learn about employability skills? Can you help with interviewing them so they know what it takes to get the job of their choice? If you have time on February 15 and 16 at CHS please contact John Scrogham our CTE coordinator at to help out.
  • Tutoring will resume for the second semester on Tuesday, January 9th. Students must sign up to attend. Sign-up sheets are located outside room 406. Students must use their ID number to sign up for confidentially purposes.
  • The Combs Football Booster Club is sponsoring a “Date with your Daughter” on Saturday, January 20 so mark your calendars for this special evening for fathers and their K-12thgrade daughters; this dance will be held at CHS. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Free/Reduced Applications:     Are accepted all year long.

  • Students who are eligible for free and/or reduced lunch are also eligible for free and/or reduced breakfast daily.  Students may also receive a reduction on AP Exams, tutoring scholarships and college scholarships.  Make sure your student is afforded every opportunity.  Parents may also submit the Free and Reduced Lunch Application online.  Please visit to begin the process.
