Coyote Weekly Update 11/03/2017

November is here and just a few weeks to Thanksgiving, keep working hard Coyotes.

For all parents/guardians and students:

  • Combs High School is in beginning stages of organizing an Alumni Association and we are looking for graduates and staff to participate in this exciting process. If you are interested in learning more, please contact me, Brooke Davis at:
  • At CHS, we are committed to providing the necessary supports and services to our students.  In light of the increased mental health needs of students our school has joined with MI KIDS to provide information about depression and suicide throughout the month of November and December.  A parent letter and resources have been included (please see the flyer) with additional information.  Our students need us to partner together to ensure they have what they need at school and home to be successful.  Thank you for your ongoing support.
  • Our monthly site council meeting is set for Monday, November 6 at 5:00 in the library. This monthly meeting is designed to share school information with families about our school operations and to get your feedback about CHS. Please see the attached agenda for the topics and information I will be sharing.
  • Want to get a head start on college planning for your student? On Saturday, November 4 ASU will be hosting a family day where families can tour facilities, meet students and learn about what college is all about. Please see the attached flyer for all the details.
  • October Students of the Month:
  • CHS—Nathan Fajardo, “Nathan is a dedicated Coyote. He gives of himself to our campus and never lets the beauty of CHS be spoiled. Nathan does not want to see any trash or items that take away from our spectacular campus. Thank you Nathan for showing your pride in our school every day.” David Bustillos
  • Kiwanis International—Jackson Watson.  “Jackson gives 100% in all he does.  He has overcome many academic challenges to become a very successful student.  He is genuinely a very respectful and polite young man and it is a privilege to work with him and see the academic progress he has made.” Susan Belshe
  • Banner Hospital—the trait of citizenship. “Emery Udall is involved in school through a variety extra-curricular activities and her academic achievement but most important trait is her citizenship. She is always willing to go the extra mile for her teachers and peers. She always steps up to help a peer in class and out. She models excellence every day and is always ready to help.” Travis Mille
